Judgement

After death, comes judgement. Mercy was given before death, yet many will not accept God's mercy to reform, instead claim a false mercy, to continue sinning, and now there is no mercy only judgement. Mercy is for the here and now, accept it, sin no more.

"You do not know when your last day may come. You are an ingrate! Why not use the day, Today, that God has given you to repent?" - St Augustine

"In the evening of life, we will be judged on love alone." - St. John of the Cross

"Everyone is presented at judgement just as he is when he departs this life. Nevertheless it must be believed that there is, for the sake of lesser faults, a purgatorial fire before judgement... Truth does say that if anyone speak blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, he will not be forgiven in this world, nor the one to come." - Pope St Gregory I the Great

“Three possible destinies await you at death and judgment: hell, which is pain without love; purgatory, pain with love; and heaven, love without pain.” - Archbishop Sheen

“Do not think when you go before the judgment seat of God that you will argue a case. You will plead no extenuating circumstances; you will not ask for a new trial or a new jury; you will be your own judge! You will be your own jury. As Scripture says, ‘We will be condemned out of our own mouths’. God will merely seal our judgment.” - Archbishop Sheen

"But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall render an account for it in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." - Matthew 12:36-37

"He that despiseth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him; the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day."- John 12:48

And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting." - Matthew 25:46

'As often I consider the day of judgement, I tremble. Whenever I eat or drink, or whatever else I do, that terrible trumpet appears to sound in my ears, "Arise, ye dead, and come to judgement."' - St. Jerome

"At the sound of that trumpet the souls of the blessed shall descend from heaven to be united to the bodies with which they served God on earth; and the unhappy souls of the damned shall come up from hell to take possession again of those bodies with which they have offended God. . . the damned shall appear deformed and black, like so many firebrands of hell; but The just shall shine as the sun." - St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori

"The angels shall go out, and shall separate the wicked from among the just." - Matthew 13:49

"Sinners shall weep at the sign of the cross; for, as St. John Chrysostom says, the nails will complain of them; the wounds and the cross of Jesus Christ will speak against them." - St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori

"It would, be easier for the damned to bear the torments of hell than the presence of the Lord." - St. Jerome

"The books of conscience are opened, and the judgment begins." - St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori
